Catching a Break

After a few weeks on campus, I decided I needed a break and headed home.
I had my first midterm last Friday, and since then, I've been relaxing. Later on that day, I visited Saigon Fusion, a 4-star Vietnamese restaurant! It was so good and boosted my mood for the evening. I ordered Com Suon, a broken rice dish with grilled pork. My mother came to pick me up and take me home immediately after. It took a while to go back due to how difficult the roads in Boston were to navigate, but once we entered our house it was wonderful.
As soon as I entered my home, I just flopped onto my bed. I felt like a kid again. Not having to worry about what to make for breakfast or about being scrutinized as I lounge on my bed. It was refreshing. On a Sunday night, I'm currently unwinding by watching some Going Seventeen! on YouTube and playing a few of my phone's mini-games. But, I must prepare myself for tomorrow as I will still have my asynchronous classes and tasks to do. I have a lab report due Tuesday and another due Friday :') One would think asynchronous classes would be easier than attending in-person, but seeing all these assignments just overwhelms one. Thus why I thought being in a home environment with my family would make me feel less stressed.
Even though I have all these assignments, I still manage to get them done by Friday and have my 3-day-weekend for myself. I've lately spent some of my free time researching Computer Science and entry-level tech jobs. After attempting HTML coding using free online lessons, I'm thinking about minoring in computer science. When you know what you're doing, I find it to be quite enjoyable, but when you're stumped, it can be rather irritating. I've heard that if I take these coding classes while majoring in biology, I might be able to apply for a job in the biotech industry, which is something I really desire to do. I am not very concerned about my career choices at this moment because I am only a second-year student who still has many years ahead of them. I've started doing some research and seeing what I like.
Overall, I feel slightly better as I sit on my bed writing this post and will be able to do everything I need to do tomorrow before evening and leave some time for some self-reflection and me-time. :)
